Continuing to prioritize the green industry, Semen Baturaja has successfully obtained the Indonesian Green Label Certificate

PALEMBANG – Continuing to prioritize the green industry, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has succeeded in obtaining an Indonesian Green Label certificate with a Gold Predicate from the Indonesian Green Product Council (GPCI).
Green Label Indonesia is a green and environmentally friendly product certification officially issued by GCPI. This certification is expected to reduce the negative environmental impacts caused by a product.
SMBR products succeeded in getting the Gold title by obtaining more than 85 percent of the assessment criteria determined by GPCI. This certificate was achieved by two SMBR products, namely Portland Composite Cement (PCC) for Packaging and Ezpro for Bulk Cement PCC.
SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Basthony Santri said that the Indonesian Green Label Certificate is a manifestation of SMBR’s commitment to always present quality and environmentally friendly cement products to support development in Indonesia which is in line with the company’s vision. By achieving this certificate, cement produced by SMBR is considered an environmentally friendly product.
“This Green Label Certificate is SMBR’s advantage in improving the reputation of a company that is responsible for providing environmentally friendly products and sustainable solutions for customers,” he said.
Based on the assessment criteria, SMBR is considered good in monitoring product quality and waste management which has been carried out consistently and is also proven to have good facilities for production processes, product testing, waste management and emissions monitoring.
This Green Label certificate is part of SMBR’s strategy to realize sustainable principles or Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which have become SMBR’s commitment to preserving the environment. (*)
