SMBR Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the South Sumatra Regional Police to Secure National Vital Objects

PALEMBANG – In an effort to maintain a conducive security situation in operational activities and the company’s National Vital Object, PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) signed a memorandum of understanding with the South Sumatra Regional Police on Wednesday (09/03) at the South Sumatra Police Headquarters.
The signing of this memorandum of understanding was carried out directly by SMBR President Director Jobi Triananda Hasjim and South Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto.


The event was also attended by the main officials in the ranks of the South Sumatra Police Headquarters, the South Sumatra Regional Police PJU, while the SMBR management representatives were attended by the General Director and HR Amrullah, the Vice President Corporate Secretary Doddy Irawan, the HR & GA Vice President Fitria Margaretha and other staff.


“I hope that this collaboration and security assistance from the South Sumatra Police can increase synergy in terms of securing vital objects at SMBR.” Jobi said
Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the South Sumatra Regional Police can ensure the passage of security activities, anticipate potential disturbances and enforce law related to SMBR operational activities in the South Sumatra region.


SMBR itself has been registered as a national vital object of the industrial sector in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 466/M-IND/Kep/8/2014 so that the company’s industrial area deserves security protection.


“With this collaboration, it will increase the security and comfort of investing in Indonesia and provide a sense of security for stakeholders and employees.” he concluded.{}

SMBR Reaches 372% Net Profit Increase in 2021

PALEMBANG – PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) again scored a positive performance in 2021 where SMBR was recorded to be able to penetrate an increase in net profit of 372% compared to the previous year.

In the midst of the oversupply of the national cement industry and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as well as rising pressures for coal commodities, the Company is working hard by carrying out various strategic initiatives to provide its best performance in 2021.

“The improvement in the national economy in 2021, which is indicated by Indonesia’s economic growth of 3.69% and the growth of the construction sector of 2.81%, has prompted an increase in cement demand in Sumatra, which is the SMBR market area, by 2.5% throughout 2021,” he said. SMBR posted an increase in sales volume of 1%, and revenue of Rp. 1.75 trillion, an increase of 2% from revenue in 2020.

The company also managed to reduce the cost per ton in 2021 by 4% compared to the previous year. The success of the cost leadership program implemented by the Company in 2021 is one of the main keys to the Company’s success in increasing EBITDA by 7% with a value of Rp 446 billion from the previous year.

“The cost leadership strategy has a positive impact on the Company. We have succeeded in carrying out this cost leadership by making efficiency and optimizing factories to produce products at an efficient cost.” he added.

SMBR’s financial burden decreased to Rp 180.4 billion. This caused the company’s net profit to soar and record a net profit of IDR 51.82 billion, reaching 372% (yoy) compared to 2020.{}

Caring for Others, Semen Baturaja Provides Assistance to Victims of Collapsed Houses in Kertapati

PALEMBANG – Caring for Others, Semen Baturaja (SMBR) provided cash assistance to residents who were affected by a collapsed house accident in Kemang Agung Village, Kertapati District, Palembang City due to heavy rain accompanied by wind on Friday (4/3).

This assistance was handed over directly by the Dept. SMBR’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the head of the family he met at his house. It is hoped that the assistance provided can help ease the burden on residents affected by the disaster.{}

Semen Baturaja Held Town Hall Meeting in 2022

PALEMBANG – On Wednesday (9/2) Semen Baturaja (SMBR) held the 2022 Town Hall Meeting. The virtual event was attended by the Board of Commissioners, Directors and all SMBR personnel. This event is a means for SMBR management to strengthen the relationship with all SMBR employees.

Before the Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors would like to thank the performance and the company in 2021 and really appreciate the achievements that have been made. Furthermore, the event continued with directives and presentations from all directors regarding the company’s work plan and targets to be met in 2022.

At the end of the event, the entire Board of Directors and Vice President faced off with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as a form of commitment to achieve the target in 2022 which was carried out digitally. All SMBR employees are expected to continue to be enthusiastic to face the challenges in 2022 and improve performance in all business processes.

Semen Baturaja Matter, Give Aid to the Victims of the Eruption of Mount Semeru Through the Province of south Sumatra

PALEMBANG – PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) with Union Employees Semen Baturaja (SKSB) delivering aid to disaster victims of the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang, East Java.

The funds that have been collected are submitted to BAZNAS Provinsi Sumatera Selatan (Sumsel) as channeling aid to be submitted to the victims of the eruption of Mount Semeru.

The distribution Assistance to BAZNAS Provinsi Sumsel submitted to the Chairman of BAZNAS Prov. Sumsel Najib Haitami on Friday (7/1) in the Office of BAZNAS Provinsi Sumsel received directly symbolic of the Management of the SMBR was represented by the Senior Manager of Secretarial & Stakeholder Management SMBR M. Mu’ammar Syah Reza and Chairman of the SKSB Site was Dian Meitagama.

The help is a concern for the SMBR to victims affected by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Semeru. Hopefully this can help lighten the load for the victims of the disaster.{}
