BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) held an Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Seminar as part of the commemoration of the 2025 National K3 Month. This activity is real evidence of SMBR’s commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for all employees and work partners.
The seminar, which was held on Wednesday (5/2) at the Ganesha Arena SMBR, Baturaja, OKU Regency, South Sumatra, received an enthusiastic response from 265 participants, consisting of employees, work partners, and internship program students.
SMBR presented two expert speakers, namely the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of South Sumatra Province, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Drs. Guruh Achmad Fadiyanto, M.H., and Senior Mining Inspector, Yoan Desianda, S.T. both shared insights on the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) and strategies for preventing the abuse of Narcotics, Psychotropics, and Addictive Substances (NAPZA) in the work environment.
Vice President of Corporate Secretary SMBR Hari Liandu in his speech representing the Board of Directors emphasized that K3 standards are not just compliance with regulations, but are part of the company’s culture. “We believe that a safe and healthy work environment will support the productivity and sustainability of the company’s business,” he said.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Pol. Guruh Achmad Fadiyanto highlighted the importance of the company’s role in preventing drug abuse in the workplace. “Drugs not only harm individuals, but also have a direct impact on work safety and company productivity,” he said.
He also added that the use of narcotics is regulated in Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. “Where Article 7 states that Narcotics can only be used for health services and/or the development of science and technology, Therefore, it is important for all parties to understand the legal limitations related to the use of narcotics in order to maintain a safe and productive work environment,” he explained.
In line with that, Yoan Desianda emphasized that the implementation of strict K3 procedures is an investment for business sustainability. In this seminar, he presented material entitled ‘Steps for Handling Accidents, Dangerous Incidents, Occupational Disease Incidents (KAPTK), and Occupational Diseases (PAK)’ which aims to increase participants’ understanding of risk mitigation efforts in the workplace. “Compliance with regulations and innovation in occupational safety can minimize the risk of accidents and increase operational efficiency,” explained Yoan.
In addition, on the same occasion, prizes were distributed to the winners of the National K3 Month competition which was participated by employees and work partners.

LAMPUNG – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is once again present to show its concern for residents affected by flooding around the company’s operational area in Panjang, Bandar Lampung. On Monday (27/1), SMBR distributed additional aid to two sub-districts affected by flooding, namely Way Lunik Sub-district and Pidada Sub-district in Bandar Lampung.
The aid was handed over by Senior Manager of Palembang & Panjang Plant SMBR Kristan Teguh as the company’s representative. The aid was received directly by Way Lunik Sub-district Head Doddy Marthalaga, and Pidada Sub-district Head Usmansyah.
The assistance distributed was in the form of basic necessities such as 200 kg of rice, 100 boxes of instant noodles, 100 cans of condensed milk, 100 kg of eggs, 100 boxes of tea, 100 kg of sugar, 5 kg of coffee, 100 cans of sardines, 100 boxes of mineral water, and 2 water pumps for the two sub-districts.
In addition, SMBR also provided assistance to Way Laga Sub-district in the form of 1 water pump to help the recovery process of the flood-affected area. The total assistance was worth IDR 47.8 million.
Kristan Teguh explained that this assistance was the second time SMBR was present in the midst of the community affected by the flood disaster. “Previously, on January 23, we together with Baznas South Sumatra had distributed 500 basic food packages for residents of Way Lunik and Pidada Sub-districts. This assistance is our continued effort to ease the burden of affected residents,” explained Teguh.
SMBR hopes that the assistance provided can help meet the daily needs of residents while accelerating the post-flood recovery process.
“The presence of Semen Baturaja at a moment like this is not only a manifestation of the company’s commitment to social responsibility, but also real evidence of concern for the surrounding community. We will continue to support this disaster recovery effort and hope that conditions will improve soon,” he added.

BATURAJA – Still in order to commemorate the 2025 National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) held a blood donation event in three operational locations, namely in Baturaja, Palembang and Panjang.
This blood donation event was held in collaboration with the local Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) including PMI OKU Regency, Palembang City, and Lampung, which was attended by employees and work partners. The blood donation activities in Baturaja and Palembang were held on Wednesday (22/01), while in Panjang on Friday (24/01).
In this blood donation activity, 120 bags were collected. This activity was also attended by President Director Suherman Yahya and Director of Operations Muhammad Syafitri, who also provided support and appreciation to the blood donor participants in Baturaja.
Blood donation is a routine company program held every National K3 Month Activity. Senior Manager of Health, Safety & Environment SMBR Meriadi said that this activity is one of the company’s real steps in encouraging a culture of caring for others in the work environment.
“This activity is real evidence of Semen Baturaja’s concern for the community as well as the company’s contribution in supporting the government’s program to maintain blood availability at PMI. In addition, this activity also reflects the spirit of mutual cooperation and the company’s social responsibility in improving the quality of health together,” said Meriadi.

LAMPUNG – As a form of concern for the community affected by the flood disaster in Bandar Lampung, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) together with the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of South Sumatra distributed aid to the victims. This aid came from zakat funds collected from SMBR employees as a form of solidarity and corporate social responsibility.
The aid was distributed to two sub-districts, namely Way Lunik and Pidada, which are located around SMBR’s operational area in Panjang. The aid provided included 500 packages for each type of basic needs, including 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of flour, 1 kg of sugar, 265 gr of soy sauce, 1 kg of cooking oil, canned sardines, boxed tea, condensed milk, and biscuits. Each sub-district received 250 packages of each type of aid distributed.
This assistance was handed over directly by Senior Manager of Palembang & Panjang Plant Kristan Teguh to the two sub-districts, namely Way Lunik Sub-district Head Doddy Marthalaga and Pidada Sub-district Head Usmansyah on (23/1). The handover of this assistance was witnessed by residents of each sub-district to ensure that the distribution was right on target and reached local residents.

PALEMBANG – In the spirit of Christmas full of love, PT Semen Baturaja (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) together with three other state-owned companies, namely PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, and PT Hutama Karya (Persero), distributed aid to two orphanages in South Sumatra.
This activity is part of a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs ‘Christmas Together 2024 Ministry of SOEs and SOEs’ from the South Sumatra regional area. The aid was distributed on Tuesday (7/1) through the SCJ Provincial Office, Palembang, in the form of 2.46 tons of rice, 460 kg of sugar, and 460 liters of cooking oil with a total value of IDR 50 million.
This aid is intended for the Santa Maria Orphanage, which cares for around 60 orphans in Banyuasin, and the Santo Yusuf Orphanage which cares for around 50 orphans in Baturaja.
Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) SMBR Gili Aprial Braja said that this activity reflects the spirit of togetherness and commitment of BUMN in supporting the welfare of the community, especially children in need.

The event held by PT Wahana Kendali Mutu (PT WKM) in collaboration with the Indonesian Quality & Productivity Management Association (AMMPI) was attended by 2,470 participants from 654 innovation teams, representing 230 agencies consisting of companies, educational institutions, and organizations from all over Indonesia.
SMBR sent its 6 best innovation teams to this competition and won 6 awards, including Platinum awards and 4 Gold awards. Each team successfully demonstrated their respective strengths, with White Clay and Beaker winning the highest award, Platinum, while WOOF Team, Pempek Sagu, CBM Pro, and Elmec Pro received Gold.
SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya expressed his pride in this achievement. “The success achieved by this innovation team reflects the hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm to continue creating new innovations amidst the increasingly competitive challenges of the cement industry. BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), anak perusahaan dari PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), tetap optimis menutup tahun 2024 dengan kinerja positif meskipun kondisi pasar yang kompetitif. Hingga kuartal III 2024, SMBR berhasil mencatatkan peningkatan volume penjualan sebesar 1% dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya. Meskipun permintaan semen di wilayah Sumatera Bagian Selatan (Sumbagsel) mengalami penurunan -1,4% YoY, terutama di pasar Sumsel dan Lampung, SMBR terus menjaga kestabilan penjualannya.
Direktur Utama SMBR Suherman Yahya dalam acara Public Expose 2024 yang dilaksanakan secara daring pada hari Jumat (6/12), mengungkapkan bahwa meskipun tantangan kompetisi di pasar semakin ketat, perusahaan berhasil mempertahankan volume penjualan yang positif hingga kuartal III 2024. “Kami melihat potensi peningkatan volume penjualan semen pada kuartal IV 2024, terutama sebelum libur Natal dan Tahun Baru, yang didorong oleh siklus permintaan yang menguat,” ujar Suherman.
Di tingkat nasional, permintaan semen diperkirakan akan tumbuh 1%, dengan tingkat utilisasi industri yang meningkat sebesar 1% dibandingkan tahun 2023. Meskipun utilisasi masih berada di bawah level yang diproyeksikan pada tahun 2019, outlook untuk tahun 2025 menunjukkan prospek pemulihan yang positif di sektor ini, berdasarkan data Outlook ASI 2025.
Suherman juga menambahkan, menghadapi 2025, industri semen masih akan menghadapi tantangan akibat kondisi pasar yang oversupply. Namun, SMBR tetap optimis untuk memanfaatkan peluang yang datang melalui program pemerintah yang berfokus pada pembangunan infrastruktur. “Program infrastruktur, termasuk pembangunan 3 juta rumah dan pembebasan BPHTB untuk kategori tertentu, akan menjadi pendorong utama permintaan semen pada tahun 2025,” tambahnya.
Selain itu, SMBR berencana untuk terus memperkuat kontribusi produk non-semen, seperti whiteclay dan limestone, guna mendukung pertumbuhan berkelanjutan perusahaan. Dengan berbagai langkah strategis ini, SMBR percaya dapat terus mencatatkan kinerja positif meskipun menghadapi tantangan yang ada.
Sebagai bagian dari komitmen terhadap keberlanjutan, saat ini SMBR memproduksi Semen PCC (Portland Composite Cement), semen rendah karbon yang sudah bersertifikasi Green Label dari Green Product Council Indonesia. Produk ini diproduksi menggunakan material ramah lingkungan dengan proses yang mengurangi emisi karbon hingga 38% dibandingkan semen konvensional (OPC).

BATURAJA – Entering its golden age, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting national development and maintaining superior product quality. Thanks to technological innovations applied in the increasingly environmentally friendly production process and support from all parties, SMBR has been able to maintain its position as one of the leading cement companies in Indonesia, especially in the Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) region.
Celebrating this precious moment, SMBR held the peak of its Anniversary (HUT) celebration with the theme “Synergy in Building Sustainability” in a Friendly Event held at the SMBR Head Office, Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU), South Sumatra, on Thursday (11/14). This activity is also the peak of a series of events, previously SMBR had carried out various activities such as fashion shows, badminton tournaments, quizzes, tennis, idols, basketball, futsal, fun walks and E-Sports.
Present at this event were the Board of Directors of SMBR, including President Director Suherman Yahya, Director (Finance & HR Function) Rahmat Hidayat, and Director of Operations Muhammad Syafitri, as well as the Board of Commissioners consisting of the President Commissioner who is also an Independent Commissioner Alex Iskandar Munaf, Commissioner Hadi Daryanto, Independent Commissioner Chowadja Sanova and Inosentius Samsul and SMBR employees. Also attending were the Acting Regent of OKU represented by the Regional Secretary of OKU Dharmawan Irianto along with the Forkopimda ranks and the Head of the South Sumatra Baznas Ahmad Marjundi.
In his remarks, the President Director of SMBR Suherman Yahya expressed his appreciation to all parties who have supported SMBR’s journey to date. “This celebration is a moment of reflection and a spur to new enthusiasm for a better future. We hope that we will continue to maintain this spirit of togetherness to make Semen Baturaja stronger, more innovative, and more competitive in facing future challenges,” said Suherman.
SMBR’s President Commissioner, Alex Iskandar Munaf, also added that SMBR’s achievements to date are inseparable from the dedication of all company personnel. “At the age of 50, SMBR remains strong as an adaptive company that continues to advance for the progress of the nation. We are committed to always supporting national development by providing high-quality products for the community,” said Alex.
The Acting Regent of OKU, represented by the Regional Secretary of OKU Dharmawan Irianto, expressed his high appreciation for SMBR’s contribution to development, both in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency and in South Sumatra and its surroundings. “Fifty years is a very valuable and meaningful milestone for Semen Baturaja. We appreciate the dedication and commitment of all SMBR staff who have made significant contributions to regional development,” he said.
Dharmawan also highlighted the positive impact of SMBR’s CSR program in the fields of education, health, and community economic empowerment. “This initiative shows that PT Semen Baturaja is not only profit-oriented, but also has a high commitment to contributing to community welfare and environmental preservation,” he added.
As a concrete form of the BUMN Social Responsibility Program (TJSL), SMBR distributes various social assistance from the fields of education, health, and community economic empowerment. In this anniversary celebration, SMBR distributed Education Assistance for orphans, half-brothers, and underprivileged children worth IDR 88 million to 240 elementary, junior high, and high school children from Ring 1 covering 6 sub-districts (Sukajadi, Air Gading, Talang Jawa, Tanjung Agung, Saung Naga, and Batu Kuning) and 2 villages (Pusar and Laya), then Education Scholarships for Higher Education worth IDR 30 million to 50 outstanding students from Baturaja University (UNBARA). In addition, through cooperation with Baznas (National Zakat Agency) of South Sumatra Province, SMBR distributed assistance for renovations, medical equipment, and operational support for the Village Health Post (Poskeskel) in Air Gading Village. Then the assistance of the MSME empowerment program through the Z-Chicken business program from Baznas with a total assistance of IDR 95 million for 10 Z-Chicken MSMEs. The assistance came from the Zakat Fund of the Directors and Employees of SMBR.
As part of its commitment to supporting education, the Semen Baturaja Employee Wives Association (IIKSB) also contributed to distributing educational assistance for 81 outstanding children, including 28 elementary school students worth a total of IDR 14 million, 20 junior high school students worth a total of IDR 15 million, 23 high school students worth a total of IDR 23 million, then 10 university students worth a total of 15 million.
Still in the series of 50th Anniversary celebrations, SMBR also held a Journalism Competition which was open to journalists until December 21, 2024. This competition aims to appreciate journalistic works that provide accurate information regarding SMBR’s contribution to national and social development, with a theme in accordance with this year’s SMBR Anniversary theme.
This entire series of activities emphasizes SMBR’s commitment to supporting sustainable development and providing benefits to the surrounding community. The age of 50 is not only an achievement, but also a starting point for SMBR to continue to move forward and face various challenges with a spirit of synergy and innovation.
A glimpse of SMBR’s performance, with the theme of Synergy Building Sustainability, is an encouragement for Semen Baturaja’s employees to produce their best performance. During 2023, SMBR managed to record positive performance in terms of both revenue and profit. Revenue in 2023 amounted to IDR 2.04 trillion, an increase of 8% from 2022 of IDR 1.88 trillion. Meanwhile, the 2023 net profit of IDR121.57 billion shot up 57% compared to the 2022 profit of IDR77.32 billion.
“SMBR management is committed to maintaining positive performance until the end of 2024 despite the increasingly competitive market challenges,” said Suherman.
He added that SMBR has received many achievements and awards thanks to the enthusiasm of all SMBR people in practicing AKHLAK values as a foundation to continue to advance and innovate. (*)
