SMBR Official Opening of the Arts Workshop of Srikandi Mahardika Movement

PALEMBANG – Semen Baturaja has officially opened the Arts Workshop of Srikandi Mahardika Movement that is situated in Pantai Musi 13 Ulu Plaju, Palembang on Wednesday, 18 March. The Arts Workshop was built with the purpose of preserving and cultivating the traditional arts of South Sumatra and to hone the artistic creativity and potential of artists. The official opening was attended by the head of Seberang Ulu II district, Rahwan Paneh, the VP Human Resources of SMBR, Fitria Margaretha, the SM CSR of SMBR, Fuad Azizi, and the head of the Srikandi Mahardika Workshop, Galuh Sito Resmi.

“The extracurricular activities in this workshop includes the art of dancing, Haḍra (collective supererogatory ritual performed by Sufi orders), handicraft, and the development of students’ potential,” as stated by Galuh Sito Resmi, the head of the Srikandi Mahardika Workshop, on Wednesday, 18 March 2020. Galuh also mentioned that the workshop is independently owned and meant for local children to freely learn about various branches of artistic creativity. “This workshop is also the first one to be officially opened within the district of Seberang Ulu II, and we are aiming to also participate in other districts’ workshop in the future,” Galuh added.

This establishment’s design is likened to a house that encapsulates several educational institutions into one, so as to make it easier to coordinate these institutions. As for the age range of the students, it is generally between 7 years to junior high school students, while the learning educators consisted of volunteers that are predominantly university or college students. “The students do not merely receive formal education that is commonly being taught, but they can also learn non-formal ones such as dancing and poetry. Natural artistic talent and potential are being tapped and brought forth in here,” as explained.

Moreover, other than showing appreciation towards the workhouse, the company of SMBR will also give continuous support to it by observing the house of arts’ growth in the future. “We are in full support of this house, and the grand opening is our way of appreciation of it,” Galuh mentioned on the media.

Level 1 & Level 2 Capital Market Course for Employees of SMBR Palembang

PALEMBANG – Semen Baturaja has collaborated with Stock Exchange Indonesia and Indo Premier Sekuritas to organize the Capital Market Course program for its employees. Hari Mulyono, the head of Representative Office of Stock Exchange Indonesia, together with Fitria Andriani of Indo Premier Sekuritas, instructed the course with the goal of educating the employees about Capital Market to give them understanding on Capital Market investment.

The lesson taught in the program consisted of two levels. Level 1 included the introduction to stock investment, stock symbol, and Capital Market structure in Indonesia. In Level 2, participants were being encouraged to learn about the mechanism of stock trading in Capital Market and stock purchasing through available application. Each participant was also given a newly opened stock trading account worth 100.000 Rupiah for transaction.

Semen Baturaja’s Financial Director as Panelist on ADW’s Procurement Talk 2020

JAKARTA – Semen Baturaja’s Financial Director, M. Jamil, had been invited to become one of the panelists in ADW’s Procurement Talks 2020 that was held on Thursday, 5 March, at second floor of CIMB Niaga Building in the Financial Hall, Jakarta.  

The topic of talk in this seminar was the “Modernization of Procurement to Improve Procuring Performance” whose discussion revolves around the implementation and main goal of modernization of the procurement process that has been adopted by each company.

The Seminar had also invited the Head of LKPP, Rony Dwi Susanto, Head of Law Bureau of Ministry of BUMN, Rini Widiastuti, and the Head of Item/Service Procurement Official of DKI Jakrata as the keynote speech along with some panelists, which include: Joddy Hernady acting as the EVP Digital & Next Business Telkom Indonesia, Eddy Prastiyo acting as Vice President of Procurement in the Development of Jaya Ancol, and Tatok Kurnianto acting as Creative Leader.

In House Training of “How to Be A Professional MC”

PALEMBANG – To help improve Public Speaking ability and polish the Communication Skill of each employee, Semen Baturaja has organized the in house training of “How To Be A Professional MC (Master Of Ceremony)” on Thursday, 5 March, at the Main Office of Semen Baturaja in Kertapati, Palembang.

The training is being participated by 33 people of which majority of them consisted of millenials. They were given the opportunity to be directly taught by Wimayase Rustam, one of the senior presenters of South Sumatra TVRI station.

Wima did not only teach them about the theory of what makes one a professional MC, but also invited them all to directly practice it on stage.

Semen Baturaja Awarded the Emerging Industry Leader (EIL) BPEA Year 2020

JAKARTA – Semen Baturaja has managed to achieve the best award during the State Owned Enterprises Performance (BUMN) Excellence Awards (BPEA) year 2020 that was held by the State Owned Enterprise Excellent Forum in collaboration with Infobank Magazine located in Grand Ballroom Kempinski Hotel on Jakarta at Wednesday, 4 March.

Semen Baturaja has become one of the state owned enterprises that qualify for the Emerging Industry Leader (EIL) level together with 22 other enterprises based on the assessment of Assessment 100 BUMN that was carried by the Assessment Team of BUMN Excellent Forum.

BPEA is the award ceremony of BUMN from the Ministry of BUMN that is based on the assessment of KPKU BUMN in which a company is capable of utilizing the KPKU-based excellent business model which allows for the establishing of competitive quality through the integration of various management systems in order to achieve a certain degree of excellent work performance.

This award is a sign of proof concerning Semen Baturaja’s consistency when it comes to its continuous service and good performance as it aspires to be the leading state owned enterprise in Indonesia.

Semen Baturaja’s Anticipation of Corona Virus Spreading

PALEMBANG – In an effort to anticipate the spreading of Corona Virus (Covid-19), Semen Baturaja has organized a series of preventive actions by measuring the body temperature of its employees by using thermal scanners that soon will be transported into the area of Semen Baturaja.

Other than the temperature measurement, Semen Baturaja also planned to distribute free face masks, providing antiseptic liquids within the office environment, and organizing a socialization for the employees concerning the Corona virus spreading and its preventive measures.

Semen Baturaja will strive to raise awareness and provide protection to its employees’ health while also proactively lend support to the government in anticipating the spreading of Corona virus.

Audit Surveillance of SPPT SNI Year 2020

PALEMBANG – Semen Baturaja has issued certification over their products in compliance to Indonesia National Standard (SNI) under the spirit of realizing the vision and mission of Semen Baturaja along with the commitment of the entire community of Semen Baturaja in providing quality products for citizens. Examples of the certified products include: OPC Type 1, OPC Type 2, OPC Type 5 and PCC.

SNI itself is an internationally applicable product testing standard that is being regulated by the National Standardization Agency and is formulated by the Technical Committee whose purpose is to measure the grade and quality of products. Some of their other purposes include:

  • To help smoothen business practices
  • To moderate and maintain healthy business competition
  • To ensure the safety use standard of the products

As a token of compliance of the SNI’s standard, Semen Baturaja had worked together with the Association of Industry Research and Industrialization of Palembang to enact the Audit Surveillance of Product Certification of Indonesia National Standard Sign on 18-24 February.

Through the Audit Surveillance, Semen Baturaja strives to maintain the quality of its products and aims to always become a pioneering Cement Industry in Indonesia while providing satisfactory service to locals.

Investor Seminar of “Stock & Market Update 2020”

Semen Baturaja’s Visitation of South Sumatra TVRI

PALEMBANG – Semen Baturaja has recently visited TVRI (Television of Indonesian Republic) of South Sumatra to improve relation and also looking for a collaborative work among both state owned enterprises.

The visitation of the Main Director of Semen Baturaja, Jobi Triananda Hasjim, accompanied by the Vice President Corporate Secretary, Basthony Santri, was being greeted amicably by the Head of South Sumatra TVRI Station, Sukirman, inside the TVRI’s office on Palembang at Friday, 21 February.

During the meeting, both companies discussed about the prospect of working together with a clear goal of promoting the local natural resources potential in South Sumatra province. The Head Director of Semen Baturaja, Jobi, stated that both TVRI and SMBR bear the same responsibility in managing the existing potentials; one of which lies in Semen Baturaja.

Through a variety of South Sumatra TVRI’s television programs and broadcast networks that cover through areas of South Sumatra, Semen Baturaja is confident in its choice of TVRI as a partner in promoting their products.

Semen Baturaja Held Blood Donor and Other Work Safety and Health Themed Contest in Celebration of National Work Safety and Health Month

PALEMBANG – To celebrate the National Work Safety and Health Month 2020, Semen Baturaja has collaborated with Red Cross Indonesia to organize blood donor. The donor was held on 3 sites of Semen Baturaja’s plants, which are: Palembang, Baturaja, and Panjang. The blood donor which involved the entire community of Semen Baturaja took place at Baturaja Plant on Thursday, 6 February, then at Panjang Plant on Friday, 7 February, and finally at Palembang on Wednesday, 12 February. Not only it is a form of philanthropic act to help save the lives of other people who needed the blood, the donation is also beneficial for the health of its donor.

Other than the blood donor, Semen Baturaja also held various Work Safety and Health themed contests whose aim is to plant awareness on its employee concerning the importance of practicing work safety and health. Some of the contests being held on Wednesday, 12 February, include quizzes with themes of work safety and health, a fire extinguishing demonstration show using Fire Ball, Body Harness usage showcase, and APAR.
